At its regular meeting on Dec. 10, the School Board approved the school calendars for the next two years. All students, Kindergarten through 12th grade, will start school the day after Labor Day. New next year: the district has added two assessment days for grades K-5 during the week before Labor Day. Completing these “Assess & Connect” sessions for students in kindergarten through grade 5 will allow teachers to plan and deliver personalized instruction sooner. Targeted reading instruction and interventions can also begin earlier in the year. We are so fortunate to have such an outstanding staff here at Clover Ridge. So for the month of November, the PTO would like to sponsor Clover Gratitudes. Parents, students, and staff can submit Clover Gratitudes for staff members on the attached form. The Clover Gratitudes will be collected in the office and each one gratitude will be selected and read aloud during announcements. It will be wonderful to hear all the great ways that our staff at Clover Ridge enriches the lives of others every day. As a bonus, the winning staff member will receive a prize! Please join us for the Clover Ridge Dance and Carnival on Thursday, November 8th from 5:30-7:30. This fun event is always a highlight for the students. There will be carnival games and prizes in each of the clusters, carnival food for purchase in the cafeteria and a dance with a DJ in the gym. The students really enjoy the crazy hair station and the pretend hospital, too. Games, crazy hair and hospital services require tickets. This event requires a lot of volunteers to run the games and other stations. Please consider volunteering for a shift or two to make this event a huge success.
